  • North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA)

    Delivered new strategy fully incorporating Net Zero and the NSTA’s energy integration work. This highlighted the massive carbon abatement potential of the North Sea at 60% of total UK needs, including carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and offshore wind.

  • BG Group

    Brought in to lead and turn around performance of operating assets and capital projects with $7bn value and 800 employees. Integrated previously separate businesses and high graded portfolio.

  • Net Zero Technology Centre

    One of the original non-execs helping formulate technology strategy and deployment. 29 technologies commercialised. Chaired the academic panel and supported the pivot to Net Zero.

Career Summary

Andy has dedicated his career to creating meaningful change, increasingly with sustainability at the heart.

As Chief Executive of the UK’s North Sea Transition Authority for eight years Andy was instrumental in forming and delivering on a new vision for the UK Continental Shelf, driving the energy transition.

Andy held a variety of executive and international leadership roles at BG Group over 20 years. He holds an BA/MA from Cambridge University and a PhD from London University and was awarded a CBE for his services to the Energy Sector.

He is an accredited coach through Meyler Campbell Mastered executive coaching.

Hobbies and Interests

“Following an international career, I have settled on a North Devon coastal farm, where my wife and I are enhancing the biodiversity. When not working, I enjoy surfing and spending time in nature with my friends and family.”
